The title says it all, ladies and gentlemen...
Rory (My fiance) and I had been talking about getting
engaged for quite some time. I also had a sneaky suspicion that he went
ring shopping. However, when we traveled to St. Joseph, Michigan for the
weekend I really did not expect him to propose there. We were going to
watch the fireworks on the beach with his family and then spend the next
day visiting our favorite wineries and vineyards and possibly grabbing a
burger from The Buck (one of our favorite food places in town) On the
fourth of July, we arrived at his parents and decided we would run to 12
Corners Vineyards while we were waiting for Rory's sister,
brother-in-law and nephews to get in from Illinois.
We loved 12 Corners as always (and might have bought a
few too many bottles of our favorite wines) when we were walking back
to our car we spotted a little gazebo that I hadn't noticed before, and
since we were thinking of the vineyards for our wedding location, we
decided to go check it out.
We got out to the gazebo, it was super cute, and Rory
asked me to sit down. This is when the lightbulb went off...WAS HE GOING
TO PROPOSE?!?!
YES.
He got down on one knee and used my full name
(Victoria) instead of Tori. This meant business. And asked me to marry
him. He opened up the ring box and the ring was so stunning. I fell in
love all over again with him and I found a new love for this majestic,
glimering ring inside of the box. It fit perfectly. Little did I know he
took one of my rings from home to Jared's the Jewelry store and got the
size I needed. He's a smart guy.
So my proposal consisted of the most special man in
the entire world, wine, and a beautiful ring. What more could a girl ask
for?
