MAC #'s 188, 109 and 209
Brushes, brushes, brushes! Today is all about three of my favorite MAC makeup brushes. Really, I just use MAC because I really love and believe in a lot of their other products. Some people have found awesome dupes of MAC brushes through other companies like Sigma and BH but personally, I will always be a MAC makeup brush girl. I do own others and love them too but MAC will always have a special place in my heart. ;)

The first brush is the #188 Foundation Brush. This is my
all-time favorite brush from MAC. It has a flat top with soft bristles for
blending. This brush can be used with liquid, powder, BB creams, you name it.
It’s a very universal brush.
Next up, the #109 Contour Brush. I actually have two of
these because I use this for 3 different things. It can be used not only for
contouring but also applying blush and bronzer as well. I use it for powder
products only. It is made up of natural fibers and has a soft rounded tip that
blends products really, really well. Most of the only complaints I’ve heard
about this brush is that is sheds quite a bit, however for me I get one or two
little fibers every once in a while, nothing major at all.
Last for today is the #209 Eyeliner Brush. This is an extra
fine tipped brush that is perfect for quick, even lines. Liquid or cream
products can be used with the 209 and it works wonderfully for the lash line.
I will be doing a “dupe” post for all three of these brushes
in the future. MAC are just a little more pricey or high-end and the dupes care
quite a bit cheaper but can create very similar looks.
Cleaning: Definitely spot clean your brushes a few times week. You should do a deep cleaning once or twice a month in my opinion. Always clean brushes after breakouts and especially if you will be using them or have used them on other people!
