Summer is coming to a close (Don't curse me! I'm just stating the facts. Plus, I absolutley LOVE Fall!) and I am finishing up my summer reading list. I've been a bit of a slacker when it comes to my reading list. I stated off the year strong, reading about 10 books a month but late spring I started to fall of track. Life just really got in the way and I had a lot to do and go through but alas! I am now finishing up my summer to-do list. I have a total of five books that I would like to finish up by late September and I think they are something some of you readers might enjoy so I figured I would give you a brief synopsis of each book!

1. Sonnets (No Fear Shakespeare)-This first book is a bunch of Shakespeare's sonnets. On one page is the original and the next is the translated version so it's easy for us of this time to comprehend. Kind of like a 'Shakespeare for Dummies' if you will. I've just been reading these on and off throughout this past year when I'm feeling poetic. I've marked all my favorites with little post it notes and things of that sort so I can come back to the ones I really love.
2. Psychos by Babe Walker-This is the second novel written by Babe. Her first, White Girl Problems was something I literally could not put down. It was side achingly hilarious and I am ashamed to admit I could relate to some (okay, 89% of it). This one, not so much. I started it when I was still working and I've kind of been picking it up and putting it down the last couple months. By the way, Babe Walker isn't an actual person, she is three persons. The trio, Tanner Cohen, David Oliver Cohen and Lara Schoenhals, decided to write the book together based on the original twitter feed White Girl Problems. Psychos is a follow up to the first memoir based on "Babe's" life. While I do enjoy it, it's just been a lot slower of a read than White Girl Problems.
3. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling- I had heard of Mindy before and thought she was from the T.V. show The Office but I wasn't very familiar with her work. This book is also kind of a memoir based on her life. She gives some advice along the way and helps us learn from her screw ups what to and not to do in life. She can turn any small life story into a big deal and is incredibly funny. She writes with an extremely honest voice and the book flows easily. If you like comedians and memoirs, I would definitely recommend this one for you.
5. Die For Me: A Novel of the Valentine Killer by Cynthia Eden-This book I ordered on a whim of book buying after Christmas and to be honest, I just had to look up what it is even all about. A woman finds out that her husband is the Valentine Killer and goes on the run to escape him. He tracks her down in New Orleans but with some of her own wit and help from a "sexy detective" she is determined to get him off of her back once and for all. I feel like this book is going to be a bit on the romantic side with some mystery and thriller elements added into it and that's fine by me. I'm sincerely hoping I enjoy this book because I do have high hopes for it. It may sound a bit morbid but I love a good serial killer book.
"Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the tender attention her grandmother, Maylene, bestowed upon the dead of Claysville; there wasn't a funeral that Maylene didn't attend and perform the same unusual ritual: three sips from a small silver flask followed by the words "Sleep well, and stay where I put you."
Now Maylene is dead and Bek must go back. But she discovers that Maylene was murdered and had good reason for her traditions. It turns out that the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected."
