NYX Butter Gloss/Matte Lipstick Mini Review!

Today I am here with a NYX mini review. I’ve only purchased one butter gloss and two matte lipsticks so far, just because I didn’t want to waste too much money if I ended up not liking the formulas of the products. Here is a quick little review of the three products I have:

NYX Butter Gloss in “Madeline”
The one Butter Gloss that I purchased was in the color Madeline and I absolutely am in love with this product. You can use this alone for a glossy look or layer it over lipstick for a super voluptuous lip look. So far, I have definitely preferred it on its own. I usually don’t like glosses because my hair is constantly getting stuck to my lips and it just drives me insane but this is not tacky or sticky in the slightest, I was really surprised! I love the color, I am a nude/dusty rose fanatic and Madeline is a true nude. Madeline is between the Fortune Cookie and Praline shades of the Butter Glosses. I feel the Fortune Cookie is just way to light and not a true nude color, I would go for Madeline over it any day.

  NYX Matte Lipstick in “Natural”
I was so sure I was going to fall in love with the Matte Lipsticks and I am pretty disappointed that I have not. The Natural color is actually darker than the other that I purchased. It’s more of a deep pink almost into magenta. It does have great pigmentation but it just doesn’t work for me. It’s chalky and definitely accentuates everything you don’t want it to.
NYX Matte Lipstick in “Euro Trash”
So, Euro Trash is a dusty rose color. This one is also well pigmented and has great color pay off. However, it’s also very chalky and it just won’t work on my lips. I love the color, it’s a go to for me, just not this formula!

I love all three colors I purchased. Everything about the Butter Gloss was spot on. The pigmentation, color pay off and it was also long lasting. I felt like it stayed on my lips quite a bit longer than my usual glosses. However, I just was not impressed with the matte lipsticks in the slightest. Too chalky of a formula and just did not work for me at all!
